So, we’ve given the whys and wherefores to those looking to potentially exhibit at THE Show, but what about those who are attending? Well, here’s what to expect at THE Genealogy Show.
On arrival at the NEC
For those of you travelling by car, please note that you will need to purchase a parking ticket either in advance or on arrival. Parking is not included in the admission ticket price; it is for entry into THE Show only. The option to pre-park (reserve a space and pay in advance) is very convenient , not to mention, highly recommended! See the NEC website for more details on visitor parking icluding disabled parking (of which there is plenty)
Those travelling by train…
Well, you’re in luck! You’re able to access the NEC without even having to step outside! The nearest station is Birmingham International Rail Station. Follow the signage to get to the NEC once you ‘exit’ the station.
Those travelling via Taxi…
There are many taxi drop off points on site, so if you’re planning to travel from the airport or train station via taxi, there’s no need to worry!
Unsure whether to pre-book your tickets to THE Genealogy Show?
We will be selling tickets at the door, as well as any remaining arena talk tickets for you spontaneous bunch! However, it will be cash only and there are cashpoints located within the NEC if required.
Once you enter the NEC
You’ll soon notice on arrival that the NEC is ginormous and looks to be the equivalent of a small town (now you know why there’s a train station right next door!) The first question you may ask yourself (apart from “where are the toilets?” And, “can I get the WiFi code?”) is “How will I get to Hall 2 ?” Not to worry! There are shuttle buses operating around the NEC and car parks during exhibitions (within opening and closing times) – and the best part is, they’re FREE! So you don’t have to worry about bringing tonnes of spare change. Of course, if you would rather walk, there is signage posted all around the site, so simply follow the directions. Cloakrooms are available (for a small charge) if you’d like to put your outerwear somewhere safe and secure, it saves you the hassle of having to take it everywhere you go!
Fancy a bite to eat?
The NEC offer all sorts of delicious and delectable catering options to cater to your needs, including those with special dietary requirements. There will be catering units located within Hall 2 plus those located in the Piazza. You can even order your food in advance using the app Qjacker. Make sure you register for an account as soon as possible!!
In need of a place to rest?
Or to eat all the food you’ve just bought ?
There will be plenty of seating! The venue will also make you feel at home by offering free WiFi to all visitors, areas where you can charge your phone (at a small cost), mobility scooters for disabled visitors and more!
