THE Show is the first time that The Surname Society is exhibiting live and in person!
The society are very much looking forward to attending and meeting current members from across the UK and as far away as Sydney, as well as meeting (current) non-members. Pop by and say hello!
The Surname Society was founded by six experienced genealogists who wanted to set up a society fit for the 21st Century, taking advantage of all that technology has to offer. They are a one-hundred percent, online Society, and hold monthly webinars and an annual conference! They have their own ‘School of Surnames’ and publication ‘The Surname Scribbler’. Members can review the recordings of webinars, share information, and have their stories published.
The society does, exactly what it says on the tin – study surnames. Whether it be as individual researchers, collaborative researching, and worldwide or regional. Members can research as many surnames as they like. The usual aims of surname research is to find the origins, meanings, distribution and movement patterns of name bearers.
